 When will Chaptr launch?

We're targeting Q1 2026 for our Beta launch. Founding members get early access to the Beta, plus first access when we officially launch.

What do I get as a Founding Member?

Lifetime access to Chaptr for £49.99 (no monthly fees ever), the ability to help us shape the product as we build and early Beta access. You also get the chance to lock in the £49.99 price.

How secure is my data?

We store your content across secure data centres with enterprise-grade infrastructure and GDPR compliance. Your files are protected by unique identifiers that cannot be guessed. We undergo regular security audits.

Who can see my family's archive?

Only people you choose. You control access to your entire archive. We never sell data, show ads, or give third parties access to your content.

Do the people I invite have to pay too?

No. You only pay once for the family archive and you can invite as many people as you like to access and contribute to it. See our pricing page for the different levels of storage.

What happens to my data if Chaptr shuts down?

You'll get 90 days notice plus the ability to download your entire family archive. As a founding member, you get priority support during any transition. We also have data custody partnerships in place for additional protection.

Can I get my data back if I change my mind or close my account?

Yes - you can export individual stories or your entire archive anytime. You also have the right to permanent deletion within 30 days if you want to remove everything.

Is my data used for training AI?

No. Your recordings are not used to train AI models or shared with third parties for any commercial purpose. We do process your content to provide features like transcripts and search functionality, but this analysis stays within Chaptr and serves only to improve your experience. Your personal recordings are never sold, shared externally, or used for any purpose beyond the features you use.

What happens if Chaptr doesn't launch?

If we don't launch, you get a full refund.

How much storage do I get?

Founding members get 20GB of storage. Patron Founders get 80GB. The exact recording time this equates to depends on your device and quality settings, but this typically 20GB is enough to hold hundreds of shorter family conversation clips. We're working on compression features that will maximize your storage capacity while maintaining excellent quality for family viewing.

What if I run out of space?

We will introduce different levels of storage later on. If you purchase a founder or patron lifetime membership now, you lock in that level for life. If you need more space later on then you only pay the difference.

Is there a limit on recordings?

There are no limits on the number of recordings within your storage allowance. Record as many stories as you want, whenever you want

Can my parents / grandparents use it easily?

We're working hard to make Chaptr as user friendly as possible. We’re testing our interface with multiple demographics so that it works well for all ages. Recording is as easy as tapping one button, and our guided prompts help spark conversations naturally without any technical complexity. Family members can participate at their comfort level - whether that's answering questions, telling stories freely, or simply listening while others record.

What happens when you launch Chaptr to the public?
